Restoration measures at the moor area at the Elbsee

    Solution ID
    Description of solution
    Summary (Challenges; Objectives)

Due to the drainage of the bog at the Elbsee, more and more trees (mostly spruces) could settle. In order to revive the bog, the spruces were felled, because they would draw water from the bog. The drainage ditch was closed with boards, so that the water could adjust itself again to a height agreed upon with the property neighbors.
