Care and Restoration Measures Südliches Chiemgau (LIFE-Projekt)

Meanwhile completed supra-regional project mainly for the conservation of the habitats of the corncrake, other meadow breeders and the litter meadow flora at Lake Chiemsee. LIFE-Project No. 1 (1995/1996): Main contents: Restoration of raised bogs and improvement of the habitat for meadow breeders (especially corncrake). The measures are based on land acquisition, one-time biotope improvement measures (with or without previous land acquisition) and public management by the project leader. LIFE-Project No. 2 (1997-2001): Main contents: Raised bog restoration and habitat improvement for meadow breeders in litter meadows. Main measures are land acquisition, one-time biotope improving works (initial care of litter meadows, rewetting) and public relations.
